About 3DXML

  Jul 08, 2015

In 2004, Dassault Systèmes (www.3ds.com) announced a 3D data format called 3DXML, which leverages XML for 3D product data exchange. 3DXML uses the highly compressible XVL format from Lattice Technologies (www.lattice3D.com) as the 3D geometry representation within 3DXML. 3DXML is a powerful, lightweight 3D format that is integrated through many of Dassault’s products.

In May, 2007, Dassault announced 3DLive, its next generation of on-line 3D applications. 3DLive is an impressive collaborative environment that is based on 3DXML.
